Lithuania is expanding the economic cooperation between Lithuania and Taiwan and encourages the establishment of business partnerships.
On September 12-16, a delegation of Lithuanian biotechnology and laser companies together with Vice Minister of Economy and Innovation Karolis Žemaitis visited Taiwan. LBTA, together with the Lithuanian Innovation Agency, organized the business mission of Lithuanian companies and participation in events – “Taiwan-Lithuania Industrial Networking Forum” together with organizations TAITRA, “Invest Taiwan” and investment fund “Taiwania Capital”. LBTA was represented by President Tomas Andrejauskas who presented the association, its activities and the Lithuanian biotechnology sector.
7 companies from the Lithuanian biotechnology sector participated in the business mission įmonės “Oxipit”, “Ortho Baltic”, “Integral Solutions”, “Cureline Baltic”, “Nando”, “Lipsė, “Sterilika”. Representatives of companies had the opportunity to visit the Industrial Technology Research Institute, the Biomedical Incubation Center, Taiwan University Hospital, a semiconductor and microelectronics technology exhibition “Semicon Taiwan“ and National Biotechnology Research Park, (NBRP), where Lithuanians got acquainted with the innovations created by NBRP. During the meeting at the China International Economic Cooperation Association (CIECA), companies presented and discussed the most important topics.
During the visit, the Lithuanian Innovation Agency and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) signed a Memorandum of Understanding, to maintain further cooperation and business partnership between the countries.
The participation of Lithuanian companies in these events was implemented according to the according to the project “Search for new foreign markets of the Lithuanian Biotechnology Association” implemented in accordance with the 2014-2020 European Union funds investment action program measures 03.2.1-LVPA-K-801 “New opportunities LT” no. 06.
